Our Children. Our Community
Research shows that 90% of brain development happens in the first six years of a child’s life. The preschool years are the most active period of brain development. Early experiences impact the development of; speech and language, fine and gross motor skills, and cognitive, social and emotional wellbeing.
We are dedicated to caring for your child; they are the heart and future of our community.
Our Philosophy
Research shows that children learn best through play. Creating, exploring, discovering, pretending, making choices and having fun are how children make sense of the world around them and their place within it. That’s why Childhood Connections Drop-in Childcare offers a play-based program, influenced by the Reggio Emilia approach to early childhood education.
Loose Parts
Many of the items in our classroom can be mixed, moved, taken apart and put back together in many ways.
Messy Play
Children’s learning can be a messy experience as they create, discover and explore. We encourage this kind of playful discovery.
Active Play
We provide frequent opportunities for planned and spontaneous active play that raises the heart rate and supports healthy growth.
